apple tree

I planted a new apple tree with quite a few small leaves.The leaves withered a while ago and there is no sign of any more.Is the tree dead?

scrape the bark with your thumb nail. if it is green under neath it is alive. if it is brown it is dead. When did you buy it? if it was recently and from a good garden centre if yes to both than you could go back and ask for a replacement.
