New arch and more of front garden.

Rose do you know the name of the dainty pink Fuchsia? I have one of those and can't be sure of its name. Your garden is coming on well and looking very pretty. Your arch will make the seat look very welcoming!

You have done well with that arch it’s a good price, and a lovely focal point which leads you to the seating area, must be great to sit and unwind and enjoy your lovely garden.

The arch was a good buy Rose and yes I can imagine walking into a little secret area it will be a lovely focal point , we had a huge hole dugout in our back garden this week we think it must be a fox OH filled it in, the next morning the hole was back again ,we know there's a foxes den in the overgrown area next to us , bad news ...

I am sorry Yorkslass but don't know the name of this Fuschia as it was in the border when we moved here 2 years ago.

We have been having this problem Amy2 with the fox all this year and ended up putting gravel down everywhere, but it still sometimes finds a place to dig!!

I'm not sure what else you can do Rose they are very determined I was surprised that a fox could jump over our fence as there's quite a drop the other side , we do know they have a den and a neighbour informed us they had cubs in the spring I'm not sure what happens next do they send the cubs out to look for their own space ?

I don't know Amy, but before I started putting gravel down, the fox was digging big holes every night! I tried every deterrant there was but if it rains then they don't work. I saw a picture once online of a fox jumping over a tall fence!

What a lovely arch, and, a great bargain too! You’ve still a lot of colour in your garden, it’s looking really pretty too!
Shame about the pesky fox! I just hope you get on top of this problem, they do so much damage. Luckily our fox visits infrequently ( that we are aware of ) and only seems to come to drink from the pond.

Rose, I just looked at your blog showing your plants still blooming well into October, wonderful.

I wonder if the Fuchsia is 'Whiteknights Pearl', a shrubby Fuchsia. Your new arch is very attractive and I bet you already know what plants are going to be climbing it!

When we came here 2 years ago Homebird, that fuschia had totally overgrown and had spread into the next door neighbours garden, so cut it back drastically last year , but has grown up again so quickly!

Shirley thank you for the welcome back. It was at the expense of much sweat and tears. I didn't want to change my name but there was no option, and I had to use an old redundant email address that OH had some time ago. If it happens again I will be totally stuck!

Rose the info re the fuchsia has made up my mind about where mine has to be moved to before it gets any bigger...

I am wondering if that fuschia is the right name for it with it growing so big! But you should be able to cut it back a bit so that it doen't take over!

Great blog, Rose! That arch will look impressive once the Clematis grow up & cover it! With the Clematis flowering your hide out will be well & truly hidden!

I saw a fox near here a couple of times when I was working the night shift at the factory. Once coming home we stood & looked each other in the eye for a couple of minutes! I got tired before he did! :D)

Rose I've been looking on the internet and most sites quote 1.5 metres full height at maturity. But it is a magellanica type and they can get pretty big. I'm sure I've seen them bigger than 1.5 metres in the past. I don't see what else it can be. Anyway a rose by another name would smell as sweet...

Maybe there are different types of this fuschia then Yorkslass!

When we lived in Willow Cottage years ago with a lot of land, there were two families of foxes who used to just play or sleep on the lawn with no trouble at all, but this one fox just doesn't give up digging my garden! Although now I have gravelled most of it, it is not so bad now! Hopefully!!

I do love an arch in the garden and that was a bargain. You have also planted your seeds of Ammi majus which is one of my favourites, they are so airy and floaty and last so long.
