The second garden visited was number 29. A lovely calming garden, with a lovely summer house, a great veg patch, green house and possibly my favourite bit, the conservatory with a huge old grape vine growing in it (and some marvellous cupcakes – yum)

Hope you’ve enjoyed taking a walk with me.

I’ve been visiting other gardens and hope to visit more. If these blogs are of interest to you I’ll keep posting about my travels.

Yes please show some more ... I enjoy looking at gardens but can't get around much now because of Beryl, so it's nice to look on here :)

Another lovely garden, immaculate! Are we talking people who have gardeners who come in, or all their own work, I wonder? Love the walled raised areas, our garden is so flat that somewhere you could do this, with steps would be ideal. Thank you for the pictures, more would be lovely for those of us who can't get to them, or just can't get to that area.

Glad you're enjoying them. I'll keep on posting, photos then.

Honeysuckle, the gardens I'm visiting are all part of the NGS scheme, not sure if they have any rules about using gardeners or not. Considering how big and immaculate the first two were I'd be very impressed if the owners kept it up on their own.

Where is it Sam? With gardens like those two nearby its a wonder anybody with an ordinary sized garden would dare to open theirs! its perfection.

Stera The first two gardens are close to the centre of Stafford - near rowley park. Their little estate seems like a different world.

The next one I've visited is in great bridgeford. A much smaller garden, but stunning. Im working on posting the photos for that one.

3d glad you enjoyed it.

Heavens above I lived in Stafford for 6 years before we came here - wish I'd known about it! I wonder how I missed it. We didn't know about Open Gardens in those days - had a lot on trying to put the neglected one we had in order. Owners of Methodist manses change very five years so sometimes there's a gardener in residence and sometimes not! I'd just got it into some sort of order when it was time to leave.... we did have garden parties in the summer though, which was fun.

Jen, Stafford's not that far away from you...why not work on your OH?

Stera I'm finding some amazing gardens this year, all privately owned. I've lived here 5 years now I think lol.

It's great isn't it Jen. If Stafford is a bit of a track for OH have a look at the NGS open gardens a bit more local to you. I've been to 6 so far this year and only 1 of them wasn't absolutely amazing.

Wow, reading all the comments I guess we were all wondering the same thing, I 'd say a team worked on that to get it up to perfection, not taking anything away from the beauty of the place, though I think I'd call it more of an estate than a garden, its wonderful Sam, thankyou for sharing...

Definately an estate lol, I think it's 1/2 an acre!

Whoever did the work, I loved it.
