SRGC Show Edinburgh 2018

After really wet weather, we had at least 15" of rain, with snow, over the past week,so it was nice to wake up to a warmer day with a bit of sun. I had been round the garden looking for anything that was show worthy but the garden was in lock down. Nothing was ready. I hope I might make the Perth Show later. I got a nice surprise when I saw a plant, part of the name is very familiar to Goy members. I will post a photo if I can get it up loaded.
Participants really pulled out all the stops to make this another memorable show. Some had travelled many miles to share their skills, others not so far but down daunting snowy rural roads.
The first photo of a Pleione had visitors gasping with delight. I edited the photo to include a closer look at the flower
Another First for this Fritillaria eduardii. I think that was what it said on the label.
A firm favourite with goy members, also earned a first, it was this soldanella in
Class 96. 1 pan Primulaceae excluding Primula
A beautiful Saxifrage in Class 95
Class 93. The first prize went to Sedum furfuraceum
Class 92. 2pans Crassulaceae, distinct.
Class 90. 1pan rock plant for foliage effect.
The goodies just went on and on.
This one is for Bjs. I hope it lives up to the way you would want it to look.
If possible I will continue this visit tomorrow. Enjoy

Thank you TT. I was sorry I had nothing ready to show but this is always a good event. My photo editor has collapsed so I am stuck as most photos need to be reduced to less than 3mp. It also allowed me to cut out all the extraneous rubbish and concentrate on what I want to see. Being able to add names to photos was also a bonus. I'll have a look and see if I can add any later. Seeing P. Stradbrook Gem was a lovely surprise. This is one by our own Goy Bjs. It was entered by the Show Secretary but he was too busy to ask how long he had had it and where he bought it.

Sheila long time since I have seen one that well grown takes a bit of dedication.

I wish I could have found out how long he has had it. I thought it was magnificent. There was a huge number of Primulas in the show maybe because the weather has been lousy and gardening outside has not been an option for months. I'm glad you appreciate seeing it.
