The snow is still around but we are celebrating.

The snow in the garden is still around in some places. Where the sun has melted it, then the temperature has dropped, the melting snow is turning to ice. In spite of that we have lots of plants defying the weather and putting on a welcome display. All of these have been outdoors all winter. I hope the ice on this Galanthus Mrs Macnamara will not affect it for next year.
This is a stunning blue
Snowdrops in the shelter of a north facing wall
More snowdrops and crocus under the laburnum trees
Crocus ‘Grand Jaune’. The foliage had been nibbled so I put one of my new cages over them and they have survived.
The primroses in the tub are a great choice. They just keep on flowering all winter.
G. Little Ben has huge flowers
G. ‘Spindlestone Surprise’ has spread well. All of these have come from self sown seedlings. I started with one very expensive (for me) bulb in flower from the Early Bulb Show in Dunblane.
Hamamelis ‘Pallida’ (Witch Hazel) is in flower but it is too cold to smell the heavenly scent.
This is gorgeous

I used to always plant pansies as my overwinter flowers. As long as they were flowering in the autumn they just kept on flowering. Members on Goy were discussing the primulas being very successful over winter so I planted a few and they do really well. Since then I have added them in various places and really appreciate their vibrant colours. I wish the garden was not so wet because I don't want to compact the soil by walking on it. We had fog early on then we went out visiting and were surprised to see the heat from the sun evaporating water off the fields.

Yes SG, we had moisture rising from the land around us yesterday too. But you are ahead of me. I still don’t have any crocuses out. They are showing their colours, but its too grim and dismal for them to open. I do have the beginnings of a clump of tete a tete, but about a month behind were we were last year mid March.

The plants are tougher than we think, I'm sure they'll be all right. Lovely to see them.
I hope your snow has gone by now.

Still plenty of snow around but not much left on the roads. As long as we can see snow on the Pentlands we do expect we will have more. I wish it would get a move on. I have some daffs in bud but I think they will grow some more before they flower.

It was nice to take a peek into your garden Scotsgran, its gives us all a boost to see the flowers emerging, looking down at the garden we don't have any snow, outside of town in the fields and the country lanes there is plenty hanging around in these parts as well, like you we also say if it does that its waiting for more to add to it, honestly the amount of rain we have had in the last two weeks I cannot see how come it hasn't all washed away, just proves how deep it was in some places....Had enough of the winter now, my mind and body needs blue skies and sunshine..

Thank you Lincslass. I think everybody feels the same. I have seeds and plants to get in but it is still too cold - for me. Lol I am definitely feeling my age this winter.

I am pleased to hear your primroses have perked up again Rose. I bought some new ones but was not able to plant them because the ground was frozen. They have survived too. It looks like the snow will be here again tomorrow. I hope it does not hang around for long. I need a sunshine and warm fresh air fix. The snowdrops have been very good this year although they are a bit late.
