I had a busy day in the garden today – work stopped for dinner and after dinner I had planned to go out and tidy up. Since I’ve been moving lots of stuff around, it’s easier to keep up with watering with the hose rather than traipsing around with the watering can.

Anyway, I was standing watering away and an incredible scent came wafting past me now. Wow!! What on earth is smelling so gorgeous? Jim next door was outside doing his veg in his greenhouse. I asked him if he could smell it? No! Must be in your garden he said. A scratch of the head???? Where ever I walked in the garden, I could smell it. When I had finished watering, I tidied away the hose and proceeded to visit each and every bloom in the garden, there are quite a few and most of them are low down so a lot of crawling on my hands and knees – it HAD to be coming from one of the flowers. But Which? There is no other possible source of the scent.

Crawling around, my son appeared – what are you doing down there he asked? Trying to find out what smells so nice, it’s one of the plants but I can’t find which!!

My new car cleaner smells nice too…..It’s a wash and wipe type, no water needed!! Do you want to smell it?

Then it dawned on me!!!! I hadn’t given a thought to him cleaning his car since I was using the hose!! The wind was obviously bringing it down the path and into the back garden!

Guess who feels silly now!!
