Disabled Gardeners

I came across a website dedicated to disabled gardeners whilst I was looking for something else on the web. I thought it may be of use to put a link on here.

Hi Scottish, I too found it the other day, when someone was asking for a lightweight garden fork with a centre tread, I had never heard of 1, so I looked at this site as Bamboo suggested, there was a fork with a centre tread, but to be honest, it didn't look very strong to me, but I suppose it would be ok, if your soil was like potting compost, or like it is on tv :-), Derek.

Although I didn't read too much, I too thought of gardeners that are off a certain age Lincs :) I'll be one myself soon enough.
Derek, maybe there is someone out there with the perfect soil :) although I know it's not me!

Hi Scottish, nor me, we should ask the bbc where all these gardens are, with perfect soil :-) Derek.

They are BBC purchased recycled compost Derek. All fraudulent in my book. When Joe Swift took over the community garden in Islington he took one look at it, and said he would plant it up in 3 months time. The cost of tons of compost brought in by lorry must have been enormous.
They must think we are daft.
I am still a walking stick gardener. Its slower but you get used to it. The stick end slips on wet paving slabs, must be careful to only go out when the paths are dry.

That is a good site, I too only discovered it in the past few days and thought it to be a very helpful one with tips and suggestions that could also be a help as we get older as well as for the disabled gardener.
