I have just sent off for 3 Tree Peony from Sunday Telegraph for £11.99 just postage which i couldn’t resist hope i.ve done the right thing!! thought it was a good buy to try.
My daughter has just got a Gecko as a ‘pet’, its a leopard gecko, not keen on the crickets it eats though!! ugh jumpy crawly things LOL
Weather was nice again, although rather windy was going to cut the grass but decided it was too windy to do it, not a nice thought bits of grass blowing all over and getting into places it shouldn’t LOL
Have just been to compost bin and noticed the climbing rose near it was covered in greenfly! so have zapped them, too many to squish (ugh) although thats what i usually do. The rose is Danse de Feu hoping for some flowers this year last year was first year in.
the pond has definitley got a leak somewhere seems to be above the shelf as it gets to there then stops, i’ll have to either get a new liner or fix the hole if i can find it!!
My hedge is full of Ivy is there something to kill ivy but leave Privet alone i wonder, must post a question.
Well roast pork for tea and it smells divine so off i go to pop in the Yorkshire pudds, mmmmmmmm………..

Ginelle, i have lots of Penstenoms and have grown some from seed this year always fancied a Tree Peony but they are quite expensive so when i saw this i jumped at them! Will let you know what they're like when they come

I certainly will Sk. I sowed some penstemons as well as other seeds this year but as I mixed all the labels up I have no idea if they are growing or not! Thought I'd take the easier option and get the plants.

Sounds like a good buy to me, Sew. Hope they're in good nick and grow well for you.
I love the gecko's. Until recently, I kept bearded dragons and they're super pets. I only parted with them as I needed the space for a cot for my granddaughter. My friend has them though, so I can still visit, lol.
Find the roots of your ivy and chop the stems off. The runners will die off naturally and you'll be able to carefully pull them out of your hedge. Keep your eye on the roots though as they'll sprout again. Doc says though that if the roots are big, drill a hole, fill with SBK (?), plug the hole with putty and that will kill it. Assuming you want to kill it of course.

oh thanks for that Llew will do that i think, but whats SBK?

SBK i googled it its a weedkiller that doesn't kill grass good for woody things!

WOHOO another gecko we have them too, beautiful creatures, and ours are leopard geckos, the crickets arent that good il agree sometimes freak me out but they also eat locusts and wax worms amongst things but wax worms are very fattening and they will soon ignor the other food if they get these too much

Hi Mookins, we bought her off my husbands niece who rescued her from a so called 'friend' who couldn't afford to replace the heat mat so was going to let her die!!! Some people!! niece replaced heat mat with heat lamp which broke last night!!! Hubby went out first thing (i was panicking she would be dead in morning) bought new heat mat and a black lamp, so she's nice and cosy. Have ordered a book from Amazon so i know whats what. Will post a photo if she ever comes out of log LOL

I saw that offer Sk but decided to go for the penstemon - £17.90 for 18. I do wish they wouldn't say buy 12 get 6 free. Hope your plants arrive in good condition - and enjoy the pork.
