Changed this part of my garden.

The Ivy covered fence hides the bins storage area, as some folk on here already know, the narrow border was planted up with Sedums but I felt a change was needed.
Out with the Sedums, all potted and ready to go to a charity plant stall in a couple of weeks.
A layer of fleece was put down, covered it with Plum Slate …
Potted Dahlias were moved from a gravelled area by the greenhouse and I was annoyed to find two fat slugs under one of the pots. It beggars belief how they live under pots, then have the temerity to slither up the sides of the pots and munch on the foliage.
To the left of this is the ‘non-pond’, perhaps you recall it was planted with a huge Carex for a couple of years but, like all gardeners, changes often occur!
It now has three Roses, a Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ along with Gladiolus and Oxalis Iron Cross.
We popped out for an hour for a snack lunch, came home to find ants just about everywhere around this area so out with the ant powder, grrr!

So sorry to hear that FF...I think we all feel frustrated with the non workings of GoY.

Looks lovely :-)

I agree, it looks very pretty Shirley. I am in two minds whether to empty and clean out ( horrible job) my viewing pond.
While away my two fish have disappeared and it is so full of algae all round the sides.
It is a full days job.
I am like Feverfew, finding it so frustrating to do blogs now.

Josie, a frozen shoulder sounds quite painful so I hope it gets better for you sooner rather than later.
I agree about the Salvia, it may have to go later.
Thanks Jane ... btw did you see that 'jazzy' Daylily I found growing at the back of my garden? No idea where it came from!
Rose, could you maybe enlist the help of family to help with that task? Bribe them with food!!

Not possible Shirley as my son lives in Leicester and my daughter, bless her wouldn't have a clue, plus she works 24/7 with her own accountancy business.
When eventually I do get it cleaned out, I am going to sell it. I need easier jobs now at my age.

Rose, I totally understand that. This area has a pre-formed pond liner that was impossible to get out, so it was broken up at the base with a small sledgehammer for drainage and then filled with crock, top soil and compost. Seems to have worked out ok!

Thanks Eileen. We have been away for five days and I'm annoyed to find a workman had knocked over a pot of Mint, then brushed all the gravel top dressing over the slate. Grrr!

I remember you redoing this area & deciding what to do with it. It’s looking very pretty. I think the Salvia will eventually fill up all the space. I have been trying to put on a few photos but with no luck, have tried twice. Just thought I’d say, in case anyone thinks I’m not bothering to do anything, though with my garden as dry as dust, I feel like giving up, ( plus I have a frozen shoulder)☹️
