This looks better ...

Our village walk this morning found us going past the local football pitch, there is a school at one end, residential properties on one side and what used to be a scrappy piece of grass at the other end.
There is a team of volunteers who plant up neglected areas such as outside of the Library, the entrance to the Cricket pitch and outside of the Fire Station who have done a sterling job here.
I used my iphone for the photos, only because I hadn’t thought to take my camera, so the photos are as I took them.
My knowledge of putting photos from a phone to a desktop computer is nil, so I had to email them to myself, download them and add them to this blog.
What a palaver, until I either get a USB cable or manage to use iCloud, whatever that means, ha ha!
Here they are …
I hope many more folk in the village appreciate the planting as much as we did today.

Indeed. Two sides of the football pitch were, for many years, surrounded by very tall conifers but the local Council ordered them to be removed for 'Elf & Safety reasons!
Netting was then erected, soon to blow down, so now, as you can see, it has sturdier fencing with netting, and this planting outside of the South goal. Job done!

Shirley, how wonderful to have people who want to volunteer and also have their heart in the locality.

Don’t worry Shirley, I also have to email my photos to the computer … not techy at all, but we “get there” somehow!

Nice when people volunteer to help around their area. The planting looks great,& so good for the bees etc.

Julia, I agree with your comment ... :o)
Sheila, last night my daughter (my I.T. support) tried to talk me through the iCloud process over the phone ... I'm still not sure of it though!
Josie, I love the plants they have chosen, so pollinator friendly.

Shirley, I am giving up on this site as I cannot participate with any photos, always Oops, seems we’ve made a mistake. I’ve sent some photos to myself & they’ve gone on my Icloud mail but how to get them from there to GoY I’ve no idea. I’ve tried contacting GoY about the problem & that link didn’t work either.

Josie, I understand your frustration with Growsonyou as it has taken me so very long to log in today.
First attempt gave me the 'Bad Gateway - time out' message, second attempt gave me a completely different aspect to the site, everything was on the left side of my screen.
Finally, third time lucky, I'm logged in, but this is not acceptable so I have joined another gardening forum which I shall PM you about.
I am not going to delete my account on here in case things improve ... fingers crossed!

I was going to PM you, Shirley, when I saw that my PMs to you in the last few days all came up with "Account Deleted"! So I'm glad you haven't deleted your account1

what a lovely inviting area to walk in.

Eileen, it's really just an area alongside a footpath but is attractive with the plants now. I just hope they are being watered regularly.
