Downsized garden

I think I am going to like this website! I joined on 08 06 09 and have moved about it extensively each day since. There is a lot to learn…

My husband and I (sounds regal?), have at present got a minute garden compared to any of our previous ones, but it is thriving and everyone seems to think we do quite well for a couple of old fogies!!!
We didn’t start it from scratch as we have done previously when moving house but we have made a lot of changes and feel the benefit. This is our third summer and I feel up to doing a bit more gardening this year as my health permits. Each year I am grateful to see another Spring – it being my favourite season. Now I shall endeavour to put in some photos of our gardens over the past 57 years some of which were designed and created by us from the disgusting sites left by the builders.

I’ve been advised not to go into depth about my illness but I just would like to mention that I have Mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer (only in the pleural cavity) caused my asbestos fibers and when diagnosed in Sept 2007 the future was very bleak. However, I am still able to do quite a bit so long as I don’t get breathless. I cram it all in while the painkillers are effective. The computer is a real boon as I have a web camera and can contact family and friends and ‘talk’ without getting too tired. I think I had better take a lunch break first as my dear husband has prepared it for us. No, I am not waited upon hand and foot but do appreciate everything that he and my family does for me.
Anyone noticed the spelling check is set for US spelling? Can one alter this to good old Oxford Dictionary Standard English?

I shall also complete a personal blog with photo as soon as possible.
