Some might say li’l ol’ ninny and they wouldn’t be far wrong. I can’t seem to add photos from my computer yet I do it all the time for other purposes. What can be the secret of this site? However, I have managed to get one of myself on today and shall persevere to put on the various stages our garden has gone through since we took over in November 2007. Tiddly little thing of a garden unlike some we’ve had before but it keeps us going and there is always the opportunity of helping at one of our daughters’ which is a cracker! They have done so much to theirs since returning from 3 years in Canada to settle in Cumbria near to Carlisle where we have joined them now and live nearby.

This area is called the Vale of Eden (after the River) but it is like a little Garden of Eden in that the climate is very different from that of most other regions so far North. In fact we were surprised that the warnings to “be prepared for the cold climate” upon leaving Hampshire were not really necessary! In fact, everything seems to thrive here and the beautiful trees, shrubs, flowers all seem to bloom earlier than down south.

Previous homes have been in London, Kent, Berkshire and Hampshire, this is our 8th home and probably the last as we can’t face moving again.

Late for lunch as I have been enjoying some pottering in the garden….must go!
