Question. Trachelospermum jasminoides Variegatum

I’ve had this Variegated Trachelospermum twining shrub for many years. The leaves have a red coloration in the winter but do not shed them.. I think it is slightly tender

I have tried at least 20 times to get the semi hardwood cutting I’ve taken to root. The stems cannot be pulled to the ground for true layering, so I’ve even tried air layering. I finally succeeded to root one cutting a couple of years ago.
I got the idea to air layer after a blackbird built its nest in a Rosemary shrub, which then rooted into the nest.

But……look how big, or should I say small it has grown!

I am afraid that apart from 2 original variegated leaves the plant has produced only white leaves. With no chlorophyll in these leaves for photosynthesis surely it cannot sustain itself for much longer.

Ps I don’t know why the pot is labelled Actinidia, ignore that. I’ve only just spotted it in the pic.
