Frustrating

I am so frustrated at this time of the year. Plants all over every surface, all the gaps in borders waiting and my vegetable boxes still bare earth. Waiting for the weather to get warm and the torrential rains stop so I can really get going…

Looks like your seedlings will have to wait just a bit longer ...
Good luck with your planting ...

I can think of a few more choice words Carol, in view of the drought I had said I wasn't planting up lots of baskets and pots but I`m rapidly changing my mind, at this rate they'll all end up in tubs soon just so I can do something with them in the dry, lol.

TT I know , I know, I am very impatient lol

I havent heard the weekend forecast Pam I'm guessing its bad ...again !! they might be wrong :)

Janey I remember someone saying all May was going to be cold, I tried not to listen :( and they used to say we will have global warming, I think they've now decided its called 'climate change' as its definately not getting warmer here.

Lincslass I am with you! keep having to pot on into bigger pots, so may as well put them into planters and tubs now lol.

Yes horrible constant drab weather - showers I can happily take but not days of drab I hate it :(

I'll be glad to get mine off the conservatory floor so there's room to move! Happy to enjoy the rain in moderation but wish it would get a bit warmer.

I too have had enough of this wet weather. The weekend in suffolk is going to be quite chilly so I am sad. My polytunel is bursting and my greenhouse too. Even my fish are looking forward to some heat. The commical thing is we would like to work on pond but we need the water level lower, but it just keeps rising. Keep smiling people :)

Try to keep smiling everyone! In 1976 June we had SNOW and after that it was so hot we had a hosepipe ban. In September Prince Charles did a rain dance and after that it never stopped raining for weeks and weeks so we could be in for a hot summer YET!! If the old saying is correct 'Ash before Oak we are in for a soak Oak before Ash we are in for a splash' we should have a nice summer the Oak trees are out first but I am not a big believer in that old saying being right. lol. I am just hoping it is right. lol :o)

I remember that Olive, my mum and dad always spent a week in a caravan at Ingoldmells in June always had to be away for dads birthday on the 22nd, my younger brother and sister were in winter clothes and wellingtons on the beach, it was a standing joke for years because mum always packed both winter and summer gear for years afterwards.....

Nice to have all those seedlings. I've hardly sewn anything yet. I hope the weather improves soon.

Just caught up on this - your seedlings and young plants
look great! Have you managed to get any out yet? I have decided to go for my summer bedding next week, mostly destined for containers. I always intend to grow my own from seed, but have never actually made it! The rain hasn't been too bad here (NW) but it's still pretty cool. I did finally put my tomato plants out of the back room window into the unheated greenhouse. I have to say they look a lot happier!!!

Nothing has gone out yet, still think my babies will be hammered into the ground by this rain and i think i would cry after all the replanting and potting on i've done with them :)

Yes today was manic in the garden centre, as soon as the suns out people want bedding plants, it was going as fast as we put it out.
I am still too busy at work to really enjoy my planting but hey ho cant have everything.
Can you believe tho a customer came in and complained that it was too hot to be walking around the plants ???? there was nothing i could say lol

Touch wood, we haven't had any really heavy rain here - i think we're just on the edge of the weather and often have our own little micro-climate. I can believe that about your customer - some people will always complain - if it's too hot, cold, wet, dry, bright, dull.....!!! Sad, isn't it?!
