The vine is a Purple Trumpet Vine- Clytostoma. When I had that old fence replaced...I came home and the guy didn't just cut the top over the fence- what I thought he would do- he cut the vine right to the ground. Its struggled ever since. My wife once not knowing it was an ornamental also cut it back to the ground as it tried to comeback years later.

It only blooms once a year for a few short weeks- 2 or maybe 3. After that,its at best scattered.

That Euphorbia is still in that same old claw tub. I had forgotten that it was bone white when I bought it. I don't know what the trigger is for it to yellow. Some stay white.
I have bricks under the tub to stop any sway. But other then that ,I guess its possible one day it could snap. At least the bay breeze and winds is almost always towards the house (west to east winds). My car is safe.
