Feeling rusty on a nice 70F day (21C) but inspired…I went forth with pruners, gloves and ladder.
I have an old White Sapote (Casimora edulis) that would shade the whole small yard while creating massive amounts of extra fruit with no pruning. I try to keep it 15’ tall, wide and about 10’ deep. That gives me a ring of sun around it to plant.
I also planted a Baileys Mango going on three summers ago in ground. I added a Santol this year- its like the national fruit of the Philippines and not in any way a sure thing to live here. Marginal squared. I just couldn’t keep it indoors any longer.
I will be brave.
Pulled weeds- reminding me why my back hurts so much so often. It wasn’t that hard 15 years ago. Now,I need frequent rests- lol.
Anyways like a fresh haircut makes the man,a neatly pruned tree with a shape again,is a thing to enjoy.

I find kneeling pads help so much Lin. I never knew knees could burn so much kneeling on hard ground or worse, pavement...15 or 20 years ago. Now,I know!
But ,it does feel awfully good to stand back and see a plant come into focus.
thanks!
