At last, at last the roses are begining to bloom

I just couldn`t resist taking these few photos

This is Handel showing her new buds almost ready to open

This pic was added by mistake, but it does have the rose Sophie`s perpetual with, Snakebark Maple, Heuchera, Lupin and Clem Nelly Moser.

!These next two were taken at about 9pm this evening the 1st pic is of Golden Dawn growing over the bottom gate

and then facing down the garden to the righthand side of the patio is:-
A lovely red rose `Love Knot`
Then in between the blue pot and the terracota pot is a small orange rose `warm welcome`
next is the small rose `Malvern Hills` and up the house wall Hydrangea petiolaris which is just opening up her flower buds.

I am so thrilled its begining to feel a little bit more like summer.
!

It is great when the roses start. I have my first ones today too! :)) but they are nothing like as lovely and mature as yours!

It's nice to see your roses opening. It feels like summer has arrived when the roses open :o)
I'm still waiting for mine lol

Thanks Tuesdaybear, we do like old logs in the garden and the last of the sun was just highlighting the house you can see through the gate beyond the field to warrant a picture.
Karen ... I cant wait to see your roses I know you have some lovely ones.
Hywel ... I`m sure you wont have long to wait, having said that its so cold and windy here today with dark clouds threatening rain that I despair of summer really arriving.

Lovely roses Stroller. I do have the Handel rose too.
One thing I noticed here in London at least. Many people have roses in their front gardens totally neglected and they all look very healthy with masses of flowers. The same happens with one rose in my front garden which I have never touched for years, as it is inside a thick border hedge. It is an Iceberg, it is very healthy and bears dozens of flowers. The ones at the back which I prune, I feed and spray, are less healthy and bear very few flowers. Is it time to leave all alone and save my money?
Explanation please.

I totally agree with you Costa1, I have noticed the same too, especially at an abandoned house and garden.

Costa ... sorry but I cant help all I can say is the only rose I have sprayed is a climber `dublin bay` and this was done because it is next to a very large jasminoides the leaves of which are covered in what I can only term as thick soot. The rose looks dreadful the leaves are curling and brown and it has more black spot than any other rose in the garden. The soot on the jasminoides was correctly identified by Bamboo as cushion scale so I spent two hours washing all the leaves and then will treat it with a systemic insecticide at the end of this month and again in July.
Thanks Michaella, I know you love your roses.
Annella and Paul .... its golden dawns 3rd yr and its the best its been, thanks for your compliments.
