Rain, rain go away ....

Being ever the optimist hubby took me to the garden nursery last week to buy a selection of evergreen shrubs for the front garden all ready for the small alterations I have in mind.

AZALEA ANNE FRANK

AZALEA `MARUSCHKA`

ABELIA `KALEIDOSCOPE`

BERBERIS

PIERIS `LITTLE HEATH`

ESCALONIA `JAMIE`

PHOTINIA `PINK CRISPY`

OSMANTHUS `GOSHIKI`

THESE ARE PHOTOS TAKEN FROM THE NET TO GIVE ME AN IDEA OF COLOUR AND SHAPE, I managed to purchase them all from our local nurseries all we need is this darn rain to stop and a good burst of energy to put the plan in action.
I think we are all waiting for a decent summer this year.

Really lovely selection there. I've the pieris, the escallonia and the osmanthus. All doing extremely well too.
I'm fed up with the rain, it's rained here all day..my cat thinks I can switch it off so she can go out into our back garden!
I do hope you can show us your purchases planted up when your all ready to go!

Lovely choices Phyl … A. Anne Frank is stunning! Yes, I think we’re all desperate for blue sky and sunshine … what a long, dreary winter it’s been. A burst of energy would be welcome here too 🙂.

Smashing plant choices, Phyl, mind yourself on that Berberis, prickly little shrub! The Bees will love the Escallonia in the sunny weather ... which seems a long way off at the moment.

I love all the collection you have chosen Stroller and as you said..no more rain, then all you have to do is plant them!
You must show us the finished borders.

You’ve reminded me of the Azaleas I planted last spring in my Scottish garden which I shan’t see …so sad. My sister in Abu Dhabi was asking me today how my garden is coming along! lol…I wish! Last night I had dreams about my old garden. The first time. I think it was because Dawnsaunt posted photos of Corydalis Bet Evans on Instagram. And that was always a highlight of March for me in Scotland. Hey ho! I will have a garden here…one day!

Must be hard to leave a garden you have worked on for a long time. Sorry to hear you are missing it. I hope your new garden soon begins to take shape. We will be following with interest. Stroller has chosen a lovely selection of shrubs. I hope they will do well for her.

What a wonderful selection of plants, Stroller, I hope the weather soon improves so that you can settle them in their new home and watch them grow.
I concur with Feverfew too, Karen, it must have been tough leaving behind your garden in Scotland but I hope shaping your new one will bring you loads of pleasure this year and for many seasons to come.
I am sure many of us here will be watching for updates from you both too.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments, its rained every day since the plants were purchased but I will give a progress report as soon as they are planted.
Karen I`m sure there will be times when you miss your old garden (I for on took so much inspiration from it) but knowing you your new garden will be just as inspirational and give you just as much pleasure.
