Goodbye to Jade.

We had a fond farewell to Jade this week. Not the lavish do that Jade goody had, but a simple and very tearful goodbye in the back garden. I dug up the plant that she was so fond of sleeping on in the summer and burried her and replanted it as a reminder that she will always be in her favorite spot. Jade had finally given in and I decided it was time to say goobye. The tumor on her paw so too big for her to be comfortable anymore and was now open and weeping so I decided to call it a day. She looked so unhappy the past week I think she must have been in pain. The vet put her to sleep on monday. I kissed her goodbye and told her she was going to be with Harry now. i knew I would have to do it sooner or later but it’s still very sad.
On a brighter note the suns out and I started to dig my sisters garden. I bought a cultivator and managed to do about a third so the potatoes are in and the onoins too. French and runner beans are in the greenhouse as is the toms, cues, marrows and a multitude of flowers.
I also started to dig a new border in my garden. The garden is about 80ft long and it was hard going for a while, so I stopped to have a drink. My husband appeared at the door and said ‘is that all you’ve done.’ I can’t put into print what I said to him but i’m afraid it wasn’t very lady like. It’s on the shady side of the garden but now i’m at a loss as to what to plant there. I know that bamboo and ferns will grow there as I have them on the same fence line but down further by the pond, but any suggestions would be very welcome.
I have also been Gnome painting. About 10 years ago my mum won a set of 4 garden gnomes and my youngest son Anthony loved them so she gave them to him. As a joke my eldest son Richard bought another one back from Wales last year. Then another one appeared but neither of them are owning up to who bought it. But they were all looking the worst for wear so I painted them all in nice new bright colours. My husband said we only need one more and maybe snow white might put in an appearence. LOL. But they are all looking rather lovely now.

Sorry about Jade, Sue. It's very hard to do the right thing but , as you know, it was best for her. Enjoy throwing your efforts into your garden and your sister's.

Every pet is precious ~
It is comforting that you've been able to bury Jade in her very favourite place in the garden :o)
Well done with the gnomes ~
Will we see pictures of those on GoY ?
Enjoy your Easter, Sue, even though there's sadness in your heart.

The hardest part Sue - knowing when to release from further suffering in that respect pets probably get a better deal than many humans ..sorry for your loss but done with sensitivity and kindness.
