Autumnal Ideas???

As much as I love my garden, when the nights draw in and it gets a tad chilly, I hibernate! What I do like to do though is have some of the garden inside, in slightly childish fun ways, which gets my creative mind going.
I love to see pumpkins in the garden with the natural look rather than the spooky!
So then I took the leaves idea and made a paperchain.
And I love buying pretty shaped squashes as decorations indoors along with cones
I’m wondering what everyone else does on Autumnal afternoons to brighten them up????

You are creative. I like being creative too but I enjoy being in the garden as much as I can before the real winter sets in. I love planting bulbs and taking cuttings :)
Being creative I do drawings and make pottery … well I will be making it again when my shed is sorted out soon !

In the garden leaf collecting, taking lots of cuttings, etc like Hywel, but unlike him I sew, quilt, embroider and knit.

I'm still using a blanket my mom knitted for me years ago.

I like to do small Autumn arrangements of leaves, berries, flowers and seed heads.
I love the colours of Autumn - leaf printing is fun too.
Planting pots of bulbs for the spring is very worthwhile too!

I part hibernate into my alpine house with my dwarf bulbs and small alpines .today is horrible so reached for the paint box and primed a canvas ready for a Labrador portrait.

You are ALL so busy I guess you must be youngsters with lots of energy!
I help clear the leaves, hunt for pine cones ( the very large ones), dry some flower heads, relax by watching drama on TV and on Prime, and read!

I love the idea of leaf printing - that does sound fun. I do think Autumn tends to be a better time for TV programmes too and there's nothing nicer than snuggling up with a throw, low lights and a good drama!

Lovely blog Sunny! I do quite a bit of thinking at this time of year. . . maybe I’ll keep my journal up-to-date, maybe I’ll get my paints out, maybe I’ll do more exercise?! I go for a walk every afternoon, do crosswords and sudoku at tea time, and read for most of the evening :)
AND I try to design my own Christmas card but it’s getting harder to think of something original. Sorry, I’m talking too much - I’ll stop now.

Hi Sheilabub, there's no such thing as talking too much - I do it all the time!
I have tried painting and absolutely love it but I'm not the greatest at it, though I guess it's all a matter of what is classed as 'good'. If I like it, that's my 'good' - ha-ha!
I have started making Christmas decorations which again is dependent on taste as to whether they're any good, but they are cute and make me smile, I may even share a photo or two in December if I am feeling brave!
If you do design your own card I'd love to see a photo.

Definitely show us your Christmas decorations Sunny . . . I think many of us love to see pieces that are home made.
Glad you enjoy painting too :)

Nothing says "Autumn" like a bright orange pumpkin. Nice garden display & I see you are very crafty.
