Wildlife from our window

Last night someone gave us a bird feeder box as a present – we don’t have a big enough tree for it so we placed it on the ground – within an hour it was ‘Sold’.

This morning we were having lunch and these two arrived – I think we need a bigger bath……..we have three and this is the largest………..

Upstairs after lunch, to get back to work, and we caught sight of this one in the blossom tree…….isn’t life beautiful????

Lovely photos of your wildlife, presumably all are welcome? Some may not welcome them due to damage, I'm in the live & let live camp so like seeing them

Amazing photos Sunny - how lovely. We have a pair of goldfinches visiting our feeder once the squirrel has jumped off 🙂

I love it, made me smile especially the visitors to the feeder, they will be so appreciative of your providing food in the one spot, don't think the birds are going to get a look in, both pigeons sitting in the bath, they really are dopey birds but I find them very amusing, like to see them waddling around, we have a pair that live in the hawthorn above my neighbours garden, they are immediately under my feeders as soon as the other birds are eating, know full well that lots of seed gets dropped, especially underneath the doves feeder.
We don't get the Goldfinches now, they all moved out a few years back, coincided with a new housing estate being built on what was a local play area just around the corner from us, luckily there is a massive playing field belonging to our local grammar school that my daughters garden backs onto, very much doubt that will ever be built on, she gets plenty of them, we haven't lost our other small visitors so all is okay...Lovely photo's Sunny, thankyou for sharing.

ah that is wonderful. we don't see many mice or voles in the garden but lots of finches and as for pigeons well too many of those. they bully the smaller birds and even have stand offs with the squirrels . all makes for an interesting garden though doesn't it.

We live on a housing estate which was built in the mid 80's so I always feel I should give back as much as possible. We did get a lot more finches when we fed them Niger Seeds but now they just come to the front garden rather than the back.
There was a very brave Starling which jumped into the bath too - I do have more photos - there wasn't a lot of room but there were no squabbles. We have collar doves too, one of them is giving the pigeons a right old telling at the minute as the doves are nest building and so the pigeons are getting chased away constantly. The Blackbirds are nesting too and Mrs Blackie seems to keep the whole garden in check.
All in all they get on pretty well and we just love 'em all.

Just saw my first bat of the year swooping over the garden. Just hope that doesn't mean moths will be banging into the lampshades soon☺
