Pretty flowers

The weather was lovely and sunny and warm yesterday and the garden is celebrating.

Clematis Cartmanii Avalanche

Not sure what blossom tree this is – it’s been in the garden longer than we have.

Anenomes and Iberis Sempervirens

does the tree ever get any fruit on it? it could be a wild cherry. I love anemones and this is a good colour too.

Beautiful clematis! Yes agree, tree is some sort of cherry. You may find it sets very small fruit that does ripen - but the birds can't wait for ripeness...

I have never seen any fruit though you're right about the birds - they are always all over it - I shall try and look it up under cherries.

Lovely photos, as said, the tree is some sort of cherry, colloquially a "bird cherry", small sour cherries that bird love

There's no fragrance on the Avalanche but the flowers are beauties and I'm looking forward to seeing it complete!

Lovely to see your flowers Sunnydais, the blossom is gorgeous, as is your clematis, I do like the last pic the blue against white looks so attractive..

I thought the colours were so lovely too Lincslass, I have tried in other pots to mix anenomes with different plants but they're not good sharers, they like their own space. That's why pots are so much fun, they're like ornaments in a room, you can move them around to match!

The blossom is lovely, so even if you don't get fruit it's a joy to look at and the birds might get some fruit. The Clematis is stunning as are the bold shots of colour from the Anemone, tulips and Iberis. Early colour is always much more appreciated than later in the year when the full garden gets going.
I like the idea of pots, they always look so spectacular on gardening programmes, but mine tend to not look so good, they need more care than I usually give!

Water is the only thing pots really need Honeysuckle - I never feed any of my flowers/plants - I'm not a perfectionist - but I'm mostly happy with the results.

You’re right, Sunny . . . I’m an “imperfectionist” . . . much more relaxing 🙂
