Sunny day of planting

Today was sunny and warm enough to plant the starter plugs which we bought back on the 20th March before the garden centre closed. Hopefully the forecast will be right that we’re to have warm enough nights.
They are a mix of Bacopa and Calibrachoa.
This photo is from our dining room window on a sunny evening, it tends to change at least weekly as I love to move my pots around constantly, helps to know when they need watering.

Agree, it would be a shame to lose them to a late frost. Have you got any fleece just to cover them at night for a bit longer? All being well you should have a grand display there. The nurseries closed before I got my begonia sempervirens - it will be the first time for 14 years I will be without them...

They are out during the day and I can bring them into the porch if frosts are forecast - last year I bought them at Easter which was about a week later than this year, so I'm keeping fingers crossed I'll get away with it! I do check the long term forecast every day!

Look forward to seeing your plants flourishing.

Plants are available to buy online, Steragram, you may be able to get some begonia sempervirens yet! I wish I had been better organised this year and bought plug plants before the lockdown, I like to see them in the flesh so to speak before purchasing them. I have heard that the plants destined for this year's big flower shows were being sold as the events have been cancelled. I am hoping the best of previous years' will be aired so that we don't lose the programme slots usually given over to coverage of Kew, Hampton Court, etc.

Are your plug plants under cover? I hope so as there could easily be more frosts in the next few weeks. It’s so tempting to put them out (my Bacopa, Calibrachoa, and Nemesia seedlings are in flower!) but I’m keeping them sheltered for a bit longer.
