memory Lane

Hi Surreylad. Like you I got my love for gardening from my father. We used to chat and visit garden centres together, so when he died I lost my gardening chum. I could always ask him about any plants I was concerned about, or the best times to plant etc. GOY has filled this gap for me too.

It must have been wonderful to have a dad like that. You learnt a lot from him.
Mine hated the garden (except for his kidney beans and tomatoes lol)
But I get my garden passion from his mother - my gran :o)

How wonderful to have photos to gives us an insight of where your dad worked and you helping him also him being presented with the Heliborus from such a great man who had under his wings so many garden s in his charge and your dad helping with some.

I was very proud of my dad, and whenever i had free time i would be with him there, and like you Linda when he passed away 6 years ago there was this void which was never filled until joining GOY, which re-kindled my passion again. so in a big way i have GOY to thank for that. although i still find potting on tedious ;-)

Lovely to have such an educated dad to teach you and he must of contributed a lot lovely photos and hope your children appreciate your teachings as much as you got from your dad
