Clematis Nelly moser, flowering now…
Hoverfly Yellow black stripped….
Ponerorchis Graminifolia, showing buds now, bit miffed i have a pot with 3 of these and 3 egret orchids all doing well then this morning checked them and a slug or snail has munched through all bar this one… talk about gutted….

Urgh, yes...it has been a nice wet spring for the slimy things, SL...they're having a field day... :(
You could eat them yourself, Sticki - I'll be happy to send the instructions my old neighbour gave me about how to deal with 'em...dee-lish with a bit of garlic...some of Lulu's fresh stuff would make it even better!!! ;)
That's a wonderful photo of the hoverfly, SL! :)))
...not so keen on oxalis, myself (it does get around)...but, beautiful pics, none the less! :)

Then you're over-cooking them, Sticki...they have to have the 'squelch' factor! lolol! ;)

Thanks Sticki, Cinders i'm out every night looking with a torch for snails/slugs but missed this one completely..
Thanks Paul, Karen not to keen on garlic snail tried once that was enough for me :-))

Don't start the great snail debate again Karen..:)) Poor Myron. I have always done the killing by hand and foot and throwing the buggers as far as I can. But used slug pellets for the first time last week...They are brilliant, was like a massacre.

You are very careful observer. In contrast to me, you often notice so small flowers and plants and inhabitants of soil :))

Lovely blooms SL....ain't it a b***er when those slimy creatures do something like that. I HATE them!!!!!
I found a clump of daisies in the grass today and there was around 10 slugs chomping away - the only pleasing thing about that was that it was 10 less eating the hostas!!!!!

I wish slugs had never been invented!??
26 May, 2012
Bet it was some slimy bloke who invented them Sticki :))))

Certainly someone slimy not necessarily male! You don't want to know what I call them when I catch them, same goes for lily beetles.

The frogs eat the slugs and I stomp the snails, I do not ever feel guilty, why should I when they don`t feel anything except full when eating my plants.

I've been waiting until the rain has definitely stopped - and it has (I think) - to put down slug pellets. There's something really disgusting about the hairy blue mould that they turn into during a warm, wet spell....! yuk!

that oxalis and the Sisyrinchium are really pretty, sorry to hear about the slug damage, i went out late the other night to water and could not believe how many snails there were, if i had collected them i reckon there would have been half a bucket full ~ perhaps i should sell them to a french restaurant??
