Progress

Hi there, prompted by Karensusan, I thought I’d show how my garden is coming along. Of course its not as lovely or full as most of yours are, but I think I’m making good progress.

This is how it looked in April..

I won’t bore you with the other older photos, but I’m sure you get the picture. A few photos of how it all now looks..

And a few flowers out now in my garden…

Well I hope you will agree that although I’ve still a long way to go its beginning to take shape and get some colour. Still got a few ideas and things I want to change, but all in time. Now though I need to go and move my sweet pea tubs to a sheltered corner, for I have the pleasure of around 15 16 year olds coming over this evening for a party in the garden… now, where’s the valium…

Thanks for looking!! :D

Thanks Jen, and thanks for your good luck wishes.. I'm gonna need it! They're a good bunch of kids so I'm sure it'll all be ok.... although I might say differently in the morning!!

Lots and lots of "girl power", there Suzy! What a difference already...
...of course, you do realise that this is only "take one"??

I'm betting that by next year, you'll be thinking...too much grass...if I just cut out another bit, there... ;)

I'm really looking forward to how all this develops... :)))

Your garden is looking lovely and you can enjoy developing it as the time goes on. Your flowers are very pretty.
I hope the teenagers won't do any damage but they must have their enjoyment I suppose :o)

:O Karen I've already started cutting more grass away and I've already decided I want less grass... if any! After all, who needs grass?

And thank you Paul, Guy and Hywel. I've moved the tubs of sweet peas out the way so they don't knock them and I've given them strict instructions to stay on the patio. I've also provided a bucket in case any of them feel ill, which I hope not.. they're all great kids really.

\O/ Never!?!? ;)

lol!! Brilliant Karen and Suzy! Funny, cause I was going to say even the grass is looking much better! On the other hand, if I had a garden this shape, I think the grass would eventually disappear too! It's looking great Suzy, reminds me of when we first started on this one...all at the edges and neat. Now it's getting more and more like a forest, which is just how I like it! :) Well done!

It looks great Suzy, I can see how hard you have worked, you will probably change it a lot over the years but thats part of the enjoyment.
I hope the party goes well, I think you`ll need lots of brolly`s...

Inspirational to me Suzy! Really well done, your gardens looking smashing :) Have fun with your next tweaks and look forward to seeing the results x

Thanks to you all for your kind comments. Karenfrance and Karensusan I'd love to make more of my garden and get rid of more grass, or even all of it... but I don't know where to start... design wise! Budget is low, so I can't afford to do too much in the way of structures, patios etc.

Lincslass, well the party went reasonably well... they enjoyed it... didn't need brollies as it didn't rain down here. Unfortunately I have one very broken chair and one broken shower rail. My son asked if he can have another party... perhaps not till at least next year... someone else's turn I think. No honestly, they weren't too bad, unfortunately you always get the odd one or two who spoil things, and I have to say the girls are worse than the boys. Its just after 9.30am now and my son has already been out and tidied everything up.

What a good, sweet boy, Suzy :)
I always found that too...

Anyway, a bit at a time! I used to be like that until bursting the budget became a career option. lol. ;))

Thank you Jane.. its looking a bit fuller now, plus I keep adding a few more plants and digging a bit more grass out! Lol... when it's dry anyway..

12 Jul, 2012

It's amazing just how much money a garden can swallow. I keep buying plants and I swear, the beds never look any fuller. this year has been a bit unusual, with the weather. I've lost one or two with rot. We NEED some sun. Jx

12 Jul, 2012

I wouldn't like to add up how much money I've spent lol, I want my beds to look full but guess it all takes time, and being as this is its first year I can't expect too much! Sun would be great, but I'm not holding up too much hope for this year!!

12 Jul, 2012

Lol, I was just adding you as a fave, you beat me to it!! Jx
