Experiment with background colour

For the past two days I have been experimenting with taking pictures of my flowers with a different coloured card behind the flower. I am doing this experiment for the time I go on my holiday to Australia in September and will be taking thousands of pictures of the unique wildflowers I expect to see. I hope you like the results of this test.
When I find a different coloured card I will add to this blog. I’ve just noticed that some of the pictures have been cropped when posting but I don’t recon the cropping has been detrimentle to the overall picture.

Love it. Been looking at doing something like that as some flowers in the garden are difficult to photograph without getting something else in the way. Good idea. Might try that. Love the Streps.

Stunning photos Tanny, the card backgrounds allow the detail and beauty of the flowers to be fully appreciated. Were the flowers photographed in situ or were they picked?

Thanks for all your comments, so glad you like the pictures. The photographs were taken in situ so that I was able to take the same flower a couple of days later with a different card. Have a go Cinderella, it keeps ones interest stimulated and seeing the special results makes it all the more exciting. I wonder where I can get a blue and Yellow card to continue the experiment.
The Streptocarpus are my speciality plant, I propergate them by leaf cuttings and by cross-pollanating.

Thank you for the offer but I will wait till I am in Aussy where I will be using a various number of colours with the flowers. West Australia is called the Wildflower State and it will be spring in September and October so you can expect to see many exotic flowers here when I return.
