On a dull day.......

Yet another miserable day and I needed a fix of something colourful, so I got my camera out, and took these pictures to try and cheer me up, I hope it does the same for you!

I grew these two Dianthus deltoides from plug plants.

The red one was planted out last year,and the white one this year!

This is the result from a packet of 12 Dutch Iris bulbs I bought in a “Poundshop” they were called “Blue Magic”

However it didn’t stop there!

There was a special offer of 12 Freesia bulbs as well for my £1, these flowered earlier in the year so I have added them into this blog to emphasise the bargain I got

This is caught my eye as I wandered around the garden!……Gypsophila repens

This is a couple of new Streptocarpus I have in flower at the moment;

Fleischle Princesse

Pink Leyla

I bought this Phaleanopsis for the wife last weekend when I went down to Wisley (see previous blog) to add to her collection!

This is a climbing rose I have climbing up the ivy on the back wall of my garage….it is called “New Dawn”

These are a few of the shrubs I have in flower at the moment;

Philadelphus (Mock Orange)

Red Valarian

Sambacus nigra

I am having a torrid time on the allotment,nothing seems to be growing!

I have sown these Cauliflower and Calabrese to plant out later in the hope that we will get an “Indian Summer”

Thats me the “Eternal Optimist”

These lettuce are a catch crop for continuity, to follow on with others that I am growing and eating at the moment!

This is the view from my back door a couple of hours later when it was pouring with rain!

Hi Drc726

Quote; Freesias are they easy to grow say in clay?

Don't know I have never tried!

I always treat them as an 'indoor plant' so I grow them three to a five inch pot!
