Bughingham Palace

In my last allotment blog I had a bit of interest shown in the wild garden on our allotments.
I thought some of you might want an update!
Well last Saturday (30/6) we had our allotment " open day"
and part of the proceedings was to name the " bug hotel" on our wild garden.
There were many interesting suggestions but the one considered the best was " Bughingham Palace" which personally I like very much, particularly in this ‘Jubilee’ year.
As always I was armed with my camera, so here are a few pictures of the event!

The trophies the site won last year, judging for 2012 is tomorrow (4/7)
One trophy is for best site in the 25+plot category, the other trophy is for best site in the entire metropolitan council area (all sizes)
I took pictures of all the plots on the site but didn’t want to bore you too much, so I didn’t bother displaying them in this blog!
Who would want to look at twenty odd allotments? !!

Wonderful blog. Thats a much better way of making a Bug Hotel as broken pallets are often burned or thrown out in skips. Have put on my Favourites list to think about in the winter months.

That looked a great open day TG. Its an allotment site to be proud of, you must all work as a team to achieve so much.
