Today and Yesterday

Hi Folks
Well I didn’t do a lot in the garden yesterday as there was little to do, I don’t like the dreaded weed much the same as you, well I don’t think the weed believed that it was going to be so tough for it in the new veg garden,as I can spot them easier, In fact I think it has come as a bit of a shock to them, so at the moment they are keeping their heads well down until it thinks that I am not watching, I was just thinking of poor Mookins in her blog when she was fighting the dreaded weed and they seem to lead her on right dance popping up all over the place, she will win one day I am sure, but not sure which day.

The slug and snail problem is well under control, and I see very few of them now as the veg garden is clear of them although I do find the odd one in the compost bin, but they are soon duly dispatched, in that I scrape some of the grit back on the ground to make a small hole then I lift the slug carefully off the compost lid and drop it in the hole I have made then scrape the gravel back into the hole and stand on it, I DON’T think the slug is amused, but there you go one slug dispatched.

Had look round the veg garden and all is going well, planted a dozen “Tom Thumb” lettuce that I had raised in pots, and being as I was having a salad for my tea, I cut a lettuce as well and found a few nice radishes they are doing very well this year, I checked the courgettes and they have got flowers on this is her ladyships patch and her mini turnips are coming up well, and I am sure the potatoe tops have grown another 6" with all this rain we have been getting just hope there are some nice spuds underneath.

We had a pineapple last week and I got to thinking wouldn’t be fun to try and see if I could regrow the pineapple top, so I popped on to the net to see if I could find some information on how to do it, I found a very interesting site and it gives full instructions on how to do and graphics as well so you can’t make any mistakes, or can you? just tap in rick’s woodshop creations it will be fun for those of you that have children.

Not bad for £12-20 it 3ftx2ft x 14" hgh
