Garden help.

Isn’t it just typical. No help at all from anyone while the work is going on, but as soon as you get top the point where you think you have done about all you can for the day and so called help arrives.
First the foreman turned up and we can all see how much he intended to do, even brough his pet bird along.
Then some twit with a watering can, even though there was nothing to water.
Lastly, came the guy with the wheelbarrow. Probably hoping to nick something and use the barrow to take it home.
Mind, perhaps next time they will all turn up as the work starts and get stuck in.
Then again pigs might fly.

LOL Toto....great blog...Yes, it is typical....I'd have a word with that foreman and tell him to show up on time or they'll not get paid.

If the guy in red tries to sell you the bird as a budgie, you can challenge him on the Trades Description Act.

made me laugh out loud especially the pig. are his wings polished and is he fully fuelled up for take off?
you've done a grand job there without help. :o)

The guy with the barrow - did you hear about the bloke who went home from the factory everyday pushing a barrow that just contained his jacket and snap bag. The security guards were convinced that he must be pinching something but could not work it out. Turned out that he had a little sideline selling wheel barrows!

Cute Blog! lovely little gnomes you have working for you! Cute little pig too...reminded me of a kids book I used to read to my kids when they were small...called Perfect the Pig...Perfect is a flying pig! LOL!
How is it that help always materializes in time to take credit for all your hard (solitary) work?! must be some unwritten law of nature or somesuch! Happens to me frequently but with human helpers... perhaps I should look for gnomes!

I think you should feed them less, Toto, then perhaps they will work better!

You'll be very disappointed Hywel. The last thieves that came here were so overcome with the poverty, they left a fiver and a food parcel.

I have a gnome who has nothing in his hand...can't decide what I want to put there...he can hold a bucket...maybe i will make him carry the weeds away I pull.. a little assistant would be nice...
I have a real live gnome too..name is Jimmy...lives next door...he is 60 years old and is like a 12 year old I would think mentally but loves to help..he works very hard...and no matter how hard I work on things and he comes and helps,,,he always says..now look at that CJ..who did all that work for ya CJ? Good thing you got me for a good neighbor CJ...lol...he is the gnome of the whole neighborhood...there is not anybody that he doesn't know..does odd jobs for pay too..never without work..people from all over town pick him up and take him to their homes for jobs...gnomes are good folk and good neighbors...
I used to sell that very flying pig in my shop..lol was a very much loved item flying pigs of all kinds..he looks good there... :-)

Thanks Marguerite. I won't tell them you called them "Stone Age" that would upset them and I would get even less work out of them. I tried to sack them once but they took me to a tribunal and I was forced to reinstate them.

More than usual Gail.
What happened? Couldn't you get a visa for Essex? I suppose Kent's not too bad though, we do occassionly let Kentish people across the bridge, but only a few at a time.
