Phase 1 paving complete

This is the paving I began in last week’s heatwave – it took longer because of the heat (i have sun burn band across my back where my tshirt drifted apart from my trackies) and dodging the showers since Sunday (Saturday was my day off to go to watch cricket).
The whacker goes over it tomorrow morning, edges to be cemented and raised bed brickwork to be painted then re-arranging the pots so that I can finish the pebble pond.

Yes - my very own tramp stamp!
Now I need to decide what to do with the bit of yard that goes down the side of the kitchen.
I still keep a look out on eBay for blue bricks but they're hard to find at a good price.

That looks great Urbanite, you must be really pleased with it, best be careful what shirt you wear next time we have a heatwave or you'll look like a zebra crossing, lol....you've done well getting enough bricks for that part, maybe you'll stay lucky and find enough to match it all up, lighting next and you'll have your own little oasis for those hot August nights I've ordered....

Patio is looking very nice. Well done. Hope you enjoyed your day off at cricket.

Just taken the whacker back to the hire shop (nearly killed me getting it back into the car) it broke four bricks - sort of adds more to the ambience!
I stopped off at one of the national DIY stores to pick up a couple of bags of pebbles - £9 for a tiny bag compared with £6 for as big a bag as I can lift from the little garden centre next to my cricket club - so pebble pond won't get finished until I head over there in a couple of weeks.
Alex - it's a yard, not a patio! ?

Nice and neat, Urbanite and they are a good colour, better still when the rain is on them, I imagine!

They are great when they're wet, Paul - just as well given the amount of rain since I finished. Unfortunately I tend not to sit outside in the rain!

Ha ha.......oh well , at least the rain makes the pavers look better.....a small compensation for being stuck indoors!
We are crying out for rain here. Just very light drizzle a few times recently accompanied by very breezy conditions so the moisture dries up before it does any good!

Oh, that looks nice, you have made a good job of an awkward area.
