My Little Rockery

After seeing the rockeries Some Goyers have produced lately (you know who you are) I was either inspired by or jealous of them & wanted one of my own, but as some of you may know I only have a tiny garden so where to put a rockery???

Out the front of my house we are not surposed to plant anything much because of all the mains water etc. but in the 25 years I’ve been here there has never been (touch wood) a need for it to be dug up.
So if you can’t go down, go up!

This is the chosen spot.

First get it cleared.

Then a retaining border.

Filled it with soil & sand. Theres good drainage here anyway.

Then desided I wanted some water, Love water.

Then the rocks.

A few plants I have been gathering

A sump to cycle the water.

Cover with pebbles & away we go!

Please Goyers, don’t give me anymore ideas, I’ve no more room! LOL.

Well that didnt take long did it? Just a mornings work huh? Now I know why you were buying up all the alpines in sight at Dobbies! Thought you were having a bit of a turn. Looks fabbie dabbie dosie btw, love that waterfall. Was it the one you were bidding for? No wonder OH had to look twice when he came home, would have loved to get a picci of his face :-))))

28 May, 2012

Thanks Sticki, Lauram & Diane I dont know about established but I am pleased with it :-)

Pimp I really dont have no more room, I'll have to join you with the mosiacs!

Thanks Skotkat thats what I cant wait for, I just love Alpines :-)

I would'nt let him loose in my garden Brian, I probably wouldn't be able to see my house!

Or a over sized swing Sticki, Lol.

I done bits over a few days Leigh, really should have been sorting back garden but I could'nt get it out of my head.

Dont take long at all PoppyL, I think we should build up that bed behind your pond & make one hell of a waterfall !
Yeah I won the waterfall for £14.99 no one else bid, maybe cos it was collection only. It is not plastic, quite a heavy resin, Bargin :-)

Thanks Pam x

Thankyou Lijemc & Ydd, I did enjoy doing it :-)

28 May, 2012

i had forgotten that one, i saw this years in the tower!!

28 May, 2012

Proud of you Willi, it looks really good and you have sited the rocks and plants well, they`ll fill out in no time, you did well with the waterfall I`ve been yearning to change mine for years as its only plastic, mind you its so well covered after all this time no-one notices anyway.

28 May, 2012

Thanks Lincslass thats a lovely thing to say.
I thought this one was plastic when I was bidding on it & then when I went to pick it up I had trouble lifting it!

Sticki I'd like a shoot like Diarmuid had from his tower, from my bedroon straight into the garden, then I would'nt see the housework that needed doing, Lol.

28 May, 2012

Surprising what you can fit into a small space :o) It's lovely and will get even better as the plants fill out ...
