Eggs and Polyanthus

Hi regarding the discussion about washing eggs, I try to have lots of clean nest material for my girls so that when they lay it’s on a clean base, of course this does not stop them doing a poo on top of the egg sometimes.
I try hard not to wash the eggs but if you are selling them they need to be clean. I wipe off the worst with a cloth and as little water as possible.
The Ducks always have filthy eggs so they are quickly rinsed but only in cool water.
I advise that all our eggs should be used within 28 days.
I sell eggs from the garden gate, and through our local “Country Market” I am a great supporter of “Country Market Ltd” for only 5p for a life time membership of your local society you can sell your garden surplus, home baking and preserves, any craft items that you have made. I have added here the web site for anyone that wants to know more www.country-markets.co.uk you meet lots of really friendly people and have a great laugh, something we all need.
Today we have potted on some Polyanthus from the tray in which the seed was sown. They are now single plants in 3” pots, in the polytunnel I hope that they will be in flower for Christmas.

I don't think my daughter has any plans to sell her eggs as she's only got the 3 chickens and usually manages to use them up in baking/breakfast etc. I do like the sound of your market group...it embraces a lot of interests for such a small membership fee.
You've been busy with your polyanthus...I hope they do well for you in the polytunnel :)
