Goodbye tree :o)
What will you do with the cut off trunk piece in the ground ?
Make it into a garden feature ???

brilliant Dee, and all done at a good price

6 Jan, 2009

~will you have it taken out?

6 Jan, 2009

Were going to have a raised bed there, the Bricklayer will build a wall in front, diaginally across, ill think of something to disguise it, he has put poison in the trunk, then nailed an inch of trunk on top.. ( because of the dog) he assured me it wont effect the plants.. When i eventually plant it up...Any Ideas Welcome, Maybe it could be a feature TT...

Yes, I get the feeling this will eventually feature on GoY's
" funky garden ideas " LOL

6 Jan, 2009

Looks like you have a lot more space to play with now. Look forward to seeing the final garden.

Good show! I hate to see trees being removed but like yours when there is a problem then the option is removal. It also looked like there were wires (power. telephone cable etc...) in the branches?

That was some butt ugly tree Dee! what kind WAS it?
What was the total cost if you do not mind? I had one removed for $300.00 7 yrs ago.

Every time I see a tree chipper I think of the movie "Fargo" by the Coen Bros Joel and Ethan Coen. in the 1996 cult film.

Tree removal has gone up in the last 7 years PF.

Very exciting Dee. I bet it looks a lot bigger out front now the tree is gone.

7 Jan, 2009

well done and a good price to.

7 Jan, 2009

Agree Clarice can be very expensive the feeling of light and space must take a little getting used to.

Look forward to next stage.

Ooooooh Guys, we got a suprise today, the estimate's for the Wall and Block Paving!!!!!!!! nearly £8000,00.. No Way Pedro, were not paying that.. Hubs here replanning :)))

9 Jan, 2009

What Dee ? thats not a drive and wall its an extension !

Surely a figure half that would be nearer the mark or is it a huge area to cover ?

9 Jan, 2009

Yeah, i thought that BB, hub actually widened the drive and front of house to be paved, were rethinking and because he's in the trade (builder) he can get the materials cheaper, The Bricklayer is sound, but were gonna get some more quotes for the block paving.. Those prices dont include Caps for top of the wall, or wrought iron, and gates, new lawn and of course theres the plants...We thought about £5000, or £6000 at the most...
