Strawberry, raspberry, gooseberry, redcurrant, blackberry and apple tree are all waking up…. I am so looking forward to using my home grown produce in Captains Den kitchen ;-) A very positive step and an unfolding dream coming to fruition.

Seeds sown; spinach, coriander, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, aubergine and cress…

A tidy up of the garden in progress and tomorrow, the fences are having a face lift!

Glad you are enjoying the Spring - looks like you'll have plenty of lovely fresh vegetables - do you have a cafe/restaurant that you are going to use your produce for ?

Yes, its exciting waiting for everything to take its turn at becoming ripe and ready to enjoy. Thats what I love best about the garden, not the way it looks so much but what fantastic food it can grow. However, its nice to give the fence a facelift every now and then, thats agreed. We have just treat ourselves to a gooseberry bush, I'm tempted to go and get another two as I'm not too sure if one will be enough for a family of five with a huge appetite for fruit??? Spinach, that reminds me, I want to do some this year, I like Saag. I spend a fortune on spinach to cook up a good chicken saag. I'm doing onions and peppers and I want to give cantelope melons a go which are all started. I'm also attempting pumkins again after last years disaster (they all go eaten??? I think??? snapped really). The year before, the pumkins (two survivors) were delicious in pumkin pie for halloween and bonfire night. Enjoy your garden this sping/summer.

Thank you Mariek & Samba for your comments.

I don't have a cafe / restaurant, although have a small catering business, working from home - www.captains-den.co.uk
My intention is to use as much garden produce for my recipes ;-)
I am very much enjoying getting the garden ready for the season ahead. It certainly needs a good tidy up!
I ma loving the spring weather too ;-)

It's nice to have fruit in the garden. I'm trying to get a patch of fruit trees this year.
Good luck with your seeds :)
