It’s raining here in Bracknell! We’ve only had one wet day here since the eginning of June – I’d almost forgotten what rain was.

The plants and lawns will certainly welcome some long forgotten rain! It has rained steadily down here on the coast from about 6am today ...

We had two days worth since end of May Andrew but it then got even hotter so didn't really help much, pleased to say it has started to rain now but only a drizzle, I swear the plants are sighing with pleasure.....

Isn't it wonderful! Apart from a thunder storm, which didn't involve rain, just hail, we haven't had rain since the end of May. The thunderstorm took out the phones, TV, router etc., all of which needed to be replaced, so now paranoid about storms, but Wow!, really love this rain and hopefully we will get enough to stop things dying. Must admit I have been wandering about outside in the rain, novelty! But of course that novelty will probably wear off later in the year if we get torrential rain. Meanwhile let us and the plants enjoy it.

Rain must have sent me do-lally! Reading the blogs I forgot I had put the toast on, so house full of black smoke and the last of the bread gone, so it's down to cheese and biscuits for lunch, but who cares, it's RAINING!!!

It was so wonderful to be cooler today I put the oven on to make some cakes. Welsh cakes on the griddle pan are alright but it was good to have proper cakes .
I had almost forgotten how to make them !

We had a few showers on Tuesday but it wasn't enough to wet the ground. It's cooler and more comfortable now.

Yes!!! So much happier now it's cooled down - and so are the plants.

We are back to normal in Scotland which always involves rain. I am not complaining because it is less work. The watering can is still.

Great here too, but not in time for the sweet peas. The rhubarb looks amazing - you can almost hear it cheering!
Diane, know what you mean about having the oven on!
