A Bit On The Side - 4

This blog details the next stage of the development of my new piece of garden (on land bought from my neighbour earlier this year).
Firstly, two fence panels were removed – now I have access to it from my side.
The next job was to put up a new fence on the boundary with my neighbour.
This was interrupted by a tea break. The heavens opened at this point so the tea lasted longer than planned.
But finally the fence was finished. We decided on a short fence so my neighbour would not look out on a tall one from her house; she can also look over it to check my progress!
Today being dry, I managed to get it painted.
Now I can get to work on the hard landscaping and soil improvement. The pile of broken concrete (on the right) came from a path against the far fence and will be used for drainage somewhere else in my garden where I am putting in a raised bed for alpines.
With access from my garden, the new plot now feels like mine.

Looking forward to the progress of this and the new alpine bed. Gardens are nevere finished, are they?

No they're not wagger. And as I open my garden, I have to keep the standards up. I realised the other day that my alpine bed is not very good because the drainage is inadequate so that's why I'm planning a raised bed. And it will recycle that pile of concrete :-)

Well done on halting your tea breaks long enough to complete the fencing. Lol.
Looks really smart... You'll soon blend the bit-on-the-side with your original garden :o)
.... and the fence is low enough that you can still pass cups of tea to and fro....Lol.
