LOL! I'm scared to go near the GC, but I need to get some stuff (DIY bumf!) so will be hitting homebase or b&q as soon as loan in! Oooer!

b and q had lots of stuff reduced in boxes which you have to plough through ~might be good if they have what you want~student loans don't go a long way~think my daughter still owes £12000 even though she was paid quite well for the three years of her PHD and didn't need to take the loans.

Zonal envy rears its siren head again! Always thought it odd that of all the US native plants your John Tradescant (Chas. I gardener) chose this weed as his namesake (photo #1 w/ Setcreasea). Firespike (#10 Odentonema strictum) is nice for butterflies but never could get past the name of the amaranthus in #11: Love lies Bleeding. But I swoon at Brugmansia (#2, 3, & 7). The night perfume of my Ecuador Pink (#7) pervades the neighborhood in FL, and as a 12 ft tree in filtered shade covers itself with hundreds of hanging Angel's Trumpets! The Carib Islanders say "don't hang your hammock under the Brugmansia: it will steal your soul away." Definite cross species pheromone communication from a lovely shrub. I'm trying B."Miner's Claim" with a chartreuse & cream leaf and pink bell in a pot in OR. And B. Super Nova has white flowers fully 12" wide.

~ for info~
Wisley is just off Junction 10 of the M25 on the A3 to Guildford and we tend to stay at Leatherhead Travelodge which can be very reasonable when booked well in advance and is about 10 mins away in the car. If you are a member of the RHS you get in free and yes you need two days to see everything!
