Hello, My name is Mike C and I just joined. I live in Western Massachusetts USA. Glad I found this site as it looks very interesting. Looks like I have quite a bit of reading to do and I’m looking forward to it. It was great coming in here and seeing all the photos of gardens in bloom as we are expecting 10 inches plus of snow tomorrow :( I’m ready for spring…

Hi Mike and welcome to GOY. This is a great community to be part of - to share success or disaster. There are some really knowledgeable plantsmen and women on the site and they're always happy to help with a problem. Have fun and see you around soon

Goodmornng everyone, Thank you very much for your comments and warm welcome. I hope to be navigating around in here like a pro before too long. In the meantime, old man winter is letting us know that he's still around here in Northern New England. We have a strong snow storm in the works. I'm off to work shortly to man the phones, I'm sure that the day is going to wipe out. I'm looking forward to getting back in here to read all your posts. Have a great day everyone. Mike C

Hi Mike - welcome to GoY. I couldn't live where you do, I'd have to hibernate! I HATE snow - I hope you don't - LOL. I bet you are looking forward to better weather. Look forward to seeing more photos of your garden when the snow has gone :-0

Hi Mike,
Welcome to this community. If you know of any fellow gardeners with small city plots please encourage them to join GOY, and perhaps add a blog or comment as we are trying to raise awareness of inner city gardens and link with other small garden owners via the site.
With kind regards and best wishes,
Grenville and Alan

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct palce. I want to start a journal where I can keep coming back into it post more and add photos. Do I start it like I started this " Hello Everyone " ? I guess my question is do I come back into the blog and add to it after other members have commented on what I previously posted.
Trying to figure this out :) Mike C

Hi Mike,

Best to start a new Blog entry each time. Consider a new blog entry as a new entry in your journal. Just click "Write a blog" on your homepage each time. Hope this helps.

PS. Welcome to Grows on You :)

You can choose a lead title ("My Garden 2008" for example), keep that main title, but list subsequent entries
under the main title "My Garden 2008" (2), (3), etc. You can always edit a blog entry, but, if wanting to let folks know about progress, best to add new entry - hence my numbering system.

Hi everyone, I just got through loading up a bunch of photos and aslo enjoyed looking at the photos that you have all posted. I still have tons more to look at. I'm VERY happy with myself for finding this site. I can see where I could very easily get addicted to coming in here.
I have a few more photos from last summer that I will post tomorrow. Thank you again for your warm welcomes and for your help in navigating this site. It's still snowing here and it's expected to stop during the night. There is a good ten inches out there already. Mike C
