Well what a washout Summer has been so far this year, many plants around the garden have suffered from the very wet, windy and cold weather, they have either been battered to the ground. water logged, suffered Bud Rot or been eaten by the increase in the Slug and Snail armies.
However I’m pleased to say one area of my garden that has actually thrived on the conditions is my Rockery, so I thought I would show you a few pictures that will hopefully cheer us all up
An overall view of the rockery, taken in a brief spell of sunshine. The area has really filled out since we finished it in May Some plants have finished flowering and I have added a few more Ameria " Pink Splenders", this has flowered non stop since day one and has made a nice sized plant now. The “Lewisia” is flowering for the second time and is such a pretty companion for the “Curry Plant” and “White Nemesia”.Heuchera “Blackberry Jam,” kindly sent to me by Karensusan is doing very well and looking great next to Sedum " Cappa blanca".
“Viola” and "Yellow Mimiulus "are perfect partners
Papaver “Sping Fever” and Scabiosa “Misty Butterflys” another very pretty combination
Papaver " Spring Fever" one of my favourites
“Papaver " buds
“White Nemesia”
“Red Mimulus "adds a lovely splash of colour
Heuchera “Cre’me Brule’” my latest purhase it gives an additional colour dimension
Another overall View of the RockeryBefore we leave just had to show you my “Sweet Pea’s”
Just look how they have grown and started to flower, they are definately “Survivors”
Hope you enjoyed the little visit, here’s hoping the rains will soon finish and you can all enjoy your lovely gardens;0))

It all looks lovely PP! I was out cutting down the flowers on blackberry jam today because they are almost done and dropping all over the patio making a right mess. Anyway, while I was doing it I was thinking about that particular plant and what a huge success it has been in more ways than one. Each one of my four potted plants is now a circle about 2 feet across and about a foot high...big mounds! So you might want to move that later on!

How lucky you decided to make your rockery ,Carole..did you have a premonition about the weather ? It's coming together so well....I managed to get your Dicentra planted at the weekend..hope it doesn't drown ! :o)

glad the Fuchsia is doing well,Carole..mine are just coming into flower, but hasn't everything grown huge? ..so much foliage,on everything...My Lychnis is like a big shrub ! I have had to cut the Sidalcea's back,as they were so top heavy..and stakes etc wouldn't hold them...shame to lose all the colour, but they will flower again this year, only smaller :o)

Your garden is still very beautiful even with the bad weather Carole.

It's wonderful how your rockery plants are giving such a good show in their first year :o) It looks as if it's always been there in your garden ...

Thanks Nana. David, and Michaella for your kind comments;0)
Thanks Hywel it has been a really successful project and I thought it would take much longer for the plants to take off, but hey! Im so pleased they have;0)
I agree Sandra I have also done lots of chopping back and staking, its just a pity there have only been a very few days to get out and enjoy! Amy's Hollyhocks are reaching for the skies, its lucky they are next to my Clothes post as it has made a great stake.
10 Jul, 2012
That was good planning,Carole..I don't have a clothes post..just hooks on the shed..but my bird feeder pole comes in handy,as do the strong branches on the Pyracantha's...great for the Crocosmia's Lol.
