Quick update on my new 20 girls

They are all doing well and Im amazed how quick their feathers are growing. Most of them are now scratting about and they are eating the corn and veg I mix with their layers mash. All of them now use the chicken house door by themselves.

After 1 week they are starting to look and act like normal hens and so far we are collecting 5 eggs a day, big ones too!

I took a load of photos of our veg plots and will do a separate blog for those soon.

Good on ya girl, as my old grandad used to say. He hated the thought of battery hens and only ever ate eggs he could see in the coup, I think everyone should try to help by not buying cheap eggs from the supermarket, only free range or by going to locals for there daily/weekly ration. they taste better and are fresher to. keep up the great work.
BIG HUGS ....Ian
