2 x ‘Jordan’. Amazing difference in leaf colour:

The reds are particularly attractive: (Maudie posing!)

The nights are closing in and weather getting colder. In this wetter period it’s working against time to get everything done. My greenhouse is bursting at the seams and lots still to plant out.

Lovely photos Ange, and your trees look so healthy! My Jordan is still yellowish, Orange Dream green, and Oskakazuki burnt brown 🙁.

Belated realised that you have two different Jordans - so now I feel more relaxed about mine!

I love all your acers Ange! Especially the first photo. It's gorgeous!

Just gorgeous!!!! They come in to their own at this time of year.
I must try to get a pic or 2 of my lot, before they drop their leaves!!!

Nice collection of Japanese maples Ange.
I am disappointed by my Jordan as I bought it after I read that is will take a full sun when established. I have it now for many years (planted in the ground) and the leaves on the top burns brown every year.
Apparently there are numerous varieties. My is bright yellow colour with soft pink to orange margins.
I think it is most likely a hybrid between a. shirasawanum and palmatum. Leaves on mine are not as shell-shaped as on a. shirasawanum( like your first picture).

Beautiful. Unfortunately we don't see Autumn colours in my part of the world, but I can enjoy posts like these!

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Sheila, I think the shirasawanums look great in the GC's, I'm not so sure about them as plants for the rough and tumble of English gardens!

Thanks, Sbg and Rose.

I look forward to seeing yours, Kate.

Mine, too, Klahanie. I'm not convinced that mine are much good. They seem very temperamental here. I have them in 2 different spots and they're both crisped!

Thanks, Bb.

Anything that cheers has to be good, Llou!

Maudie looks so content to be in the photo! Your Acers are absolutely stunning, far more interesting than my small potted ones.

They are beautiful aren't they, Mine is in a pot now so I'm hoping it will look as nice as yours next year.

Shirley, She likes to oversee what we are doing outside but she very rarely poses!

Thank you, Hywel.

I've missed this too Ange. Wow, look at your Acers! Just love the pic of them with the standard Hollies and Maudie there. You've a smashing selection and yes what a difference between the Jordans..

I'm making up my mind about favourite acers now, Janey, and the 'Jordans' aren't in them!

Haha, I'm not trying anymore Acers in my garden as the three I have haven't done well at all..
