Moggerhanger Park snowdrop walk
8 comments
Moggerhanger Park is situated between Bedford and Sandy. The wood is full of galanthus nivalis flore-pleno. I’ve never seen so many snowdrops in one place. It was cold and windy as you can see from the grass laid flat
There were plenty of bluebell leaves poking through
but the snowdrops were the stars for now
On the way to the tea room we noticed this interesting fungii
To warm up, Russian Caravan tea (a slightly smoky taste) and apple and blackberry crumble cake
Finally, on the way home some interesting clouds

Sounds as though you needed that warm-up! Glad you got to see the snowdrops, though. Snowdrop Valley was closed for a while due to heavy snowfalls on Exmoor. We were lucky we went when we did!

Wonderful ag. I wished I lived nearby I'd be there like a shot. I know what the name of the fungi is known as but wont put it on here. Did you feel them? Like rubber aren't they.

Spritz, it hasn't been a good year for snowdrop gardens, I've another blog to up of one we visited last week. As you will see from the photos when I do it, there was plenty of snow and not too many drops!
Pamd, you've got me intigued. Perhaps you could pm with the name. I'm not easily shocked I promise
Terratoonie, yes the parking facilities and the woodland walk were very well organised.
Hywel, we were relieved that the tea rooms were open too. We took a wrong turning at one point and thought they'de closed for the afternoon.
