Alternating days of sun

The weather is being very fickle this year. One nice sunny day, albeit with a cold wind, then the next is dull and gloomy. And still with the cold wind.
Does anyone know how to do an anti wind dance? The garden doesn’t seem to mind it at all and is doing very well and, so far, I have had no wind casualties. It’s a small and sheltered garden though so that helps a lot.
One of the Osterspermums I bought has flowered and stopped while the other two are carrying on. Usually they go on like mad but not this one. Don’t know the variety as I bought it in the market. It doesn’t look diseased though.
Having planted half a dozen sunflowers we now have only two left. Thank you slugs and snails.

We had a little wind damage - lost a sunflower, and the Sambucus will need some cutting back, but generally its surprising how well things have stood up to the wind.

Yes the only real damage here was to the g'house, it lost one pane which luckily I spotted so emergency repairs were name of the game before any more blew out, proper job will have to wait until the toms have finished....

Well, in over 40 years on an allotment, which I have had to give up because of my back trouble, I can never remember needing to wear my winter trousers until June 1st.
Also never remember the forecasters worrying about a
frost at night in June.
Those slugs and snails catch us all out when we dont remember to put the slug bait down. They had some of
my Alpines which were in the greenhouse. Have put them
outside now, they may not recover.
The plastic slug traps may be more effective as the little
cat wont like beer !

It's windy here too. It would be quite pleasant if the wind went down a bit.
Sorry to hear about your sunflowers :(

Cannot use beer traps Diane as Brynner and Morgan would soon find them and I'd lose even more plants, lol.....

Oh, yuk. Not me though Himself goes out each evening on a slug hunt. I just wish he wouldn't leave the remains on the patio.

Very still here now but we have had some really strong winds lately, more like Mad March Days, my bottom lawn is forever covered in twigs from my weeping willow, I have a love/hate relationship with that tree... I have also lost most of my sunflowers, same reason but cannot put slug pellets down this year as my daughter has young cat who has not yet learnt the difference between good and bad in the garden ..
