An Inside-Out Garden View ... from my Downunder Dry Tropics Garden

There’s a notion out there amongst gardeners that a garden needs to be enjoyed from inside the house as well as when you step outside.

So when the heavens open and the rain teems down and you don’t want venture outside because you’d have to swim!

… or when Mother Nature turns up the thermostat so high that you don’t dare walk outside in case you shrivel up!

… or she turns it down so low that you just freeze!

… or she whips up the wind to the point that you feel the whole house could suddenly rise from the ground!

… then, even then, you can still enjoy the garden from the sanctuary of the inside your house.

So, it was with this notion in mind that I wrote a post for my gardening blog … yes I put my old woman’s brain to the test when I tried designing a blog and then joining the blogging world out there in the worldwide web.

I’m being rather lazy today … I did not try to re-create the post from my blog. No, I’m just going to put in the link to my post instead … so enjoy the read …and I shall ask the question ‘What does your garden look like from the inside out?’

Just follow the link below:

An Inside-Out Garden View – a post from my Bernie’s garden blog.

SPECIAL NOTE: If you have speakers, make sure they’re not turned up too loud because there is a playlist embedded on my blog so you will hear music playing!!!!

Wonderful views from your windows, the courtyard area is beautiful and I love the small-squared white trellis. I cannot even contemplate having to leave an area clear in case of bush fire, the worst scenario here in the UK would probably be flooding ! It must be a joy to work in your kitchen with those views. Thanks for sharing this.

Wow Bernieh ... how lovely to have the Tropics right outside your windows.
It must be wonderful to enjoy all these luschiuos green plants in what is otherwise a pretty barren environment?
I think the coconut palms are particularly beautiful ... & to eat at your table must be so refreshing!
Thank you for showing us a totally different outlook!

You have some beautiful views of your garden sitting in my house I can't see any think lol unless I open the door which I can see a tree hanging basket and the arches covered in clematis and a climbing rose right outside my back door with a bed of mixed flowers.

Just one question, how do I go about emigrating? If I would be as happy there as your plants it would be utopia. Very interesting blog. It's nice to see how like-minded folk do things on the other side of the world.

Bernieh, I tried to sign your 'Guestbook' but while I managed to put a photo on I've got myself down as living in San Francisco!, sorry but the thought was there. It's a clever site, nice people on it.

It all looks lovely Bernieh, I would be very happy to have that veiw out of my bedroom window :-))))))

Thanks everyone ... glad you enjoyed the views as well.

Shirley ... bushfires are always a possibility here. There's one raging at the moment in the hills further over ... and it's still Winter here, so they can happen at any time! It's always best to be prepared!

Bjs ... no, lol, that's not me playing the piano. I do have a piano in the music room but there's no chance I'll ever sound like the pianist on the playlist!!!

Fluff ... yes the lush environment at the back of the house counterbalances the dry bushland on the other sides beautifully! Haven't eaten the coconuts since we first moved out here ... neither of us are big fans of coconut!!

Bloomer ... thanks for signing the Guestbook ... that was an unexpected surprise! The blog has been a work in progress for around nine months now ... and I'm quite happy with it so far.

Sixpence ... sounds like your view would be quite pretty!

Silverbelle ... not sure why you couldn't hear the music. It could be the internet connection speed ... it does take a bit to load the music.

Heron ... not sure you'd want to emigrate if you knew the Summer here! Thanks for signing the Guestbook ... I hear San Francisco is quite nice!!!

Thanks also to Aster, Clarice, Homebird, Pamg, Daisylou and Annella for your kind comments.

I liked your Blogger page. I loved the views from your windows, too! I left a small entry in your guest book.

Hi Balcony. Glad you enjoyed your visit to my blog and the views .. thanks for the message in the guest book too. It was lovely to find some of the GOYers signing the book ... I wasn't expecting that!

Glad to sign your guest book! :-) You did a very good entry & the views around the outside of your house were interesting as well. I had no idea you might be in danger from the bush fires we find out about here in the UK form the news broadcasts.

Even though we have had such a hot, dry summer there have been no reports of serious fires in the UK. Down on the allotment it is forbidden to have bonfires so little chance of any fire here. We had a lot of rain a week ago so I don't need to water any longer & can get on with the weeding! See my new blog for more info on the allotment.

You're very kind, Balcony. Yes ... bushfires are a real threat here because we have such a long 'dry' season. Luckily we've escaped any real damage here ... one fire came to within 100 metres of our place, but it was on the little hill opposite our property and didn't cross the creek bed even though that was dry!

There are lots of bushfires every year in the range of high hills around us ... but all we ever get from those is the smoke and smell!! There was a bushfire raging up there just last week ... but it's moved around to the other side of the ranges now.

Will have to go and check out your blog to see what's been going on!

Oh Bernieh, your garden is so beautiful.I tried to make a comment but couldn't send it as I didn't understand what word verification meant. I could have sat all day looking at the pics and listening to the music it was so relaxing. :o))

Hi Linda ... thanks for visiting and I'm glad you enjoyed the blog. Word verification just mean you have to type in the word that's visible in the comment box ... something to do with fending off 'bots' which are internet robots!! Who knew they were such things? It's just to prove you're actually a human ... one that can read and type! It's a whole new world ... the blogging world.

I'm not really that good on a computer. I never seem to have the time to sit down and study it. I thought I had done quite well getting into your site, and then when I did the comment and it wouldn't go, I just thought give up Lind, you'll be here all day. Lol. I think I did manage to put my name on your guest list. I didn't know how to put my name on comment though. I didn't want to sign it as annonomous, but didn't know which way to do it. :o))

31 Aug, 2010

Hooray I think I just did it. It disappeared, so I think I succeeded. Lol. Am on your guest list, as I just checked Lol. Meant to ask, Is it you paying the piano?. It's beautiful. Very soothing. :o))

31 Aug, 2010

Linda ... yes your comment has appeared on the blog and you're also on the guestbook! Who said you're not that good on the computer? ... load of piffle! Well done ... thanks for your kind comments!
NO ... that's definitely not me playing the piano! I'd have to practise non-stop for the next fifty years to be that good! It's a pianist called Brian Crain ... he's a composer and pianist and I just love his work. Look him up on YouTube ... makes great listening!

Thankyou Bernieh. Will do. Still didn't know how to put anything other than annonomous sorry.

Linda ... you can just sign your name at the end of the comment when you make a comment as Anonymous. I was doing that before I joined the eBlogger community ... that way the author of the blog can address you personally if they want to reply to your comment. I would rather use someone's name then to address them as 'Anonymous'! Lol!

1 Sep, 2010

Thankyou Just left a comment on your acacia page, and tried to do it again, sadly, I'm useless Lol. had to sign as annon again.

1 Sep, 2010

Linda ... just got your comment ... it's come through perfectly. I'm afraid commenting as Anonymous would be your only choice unless you join Google mail ... that's not necessary though because all your comments have come through and because you signed the last one, I know it's you!

1 Sep, 2010

Oh thanx Bernieh. I just felt it was a bit impersonal for you. Have a good day, or night, as I've no idea what time it is with you at the moment. Lol. :o))

You have really created a paradise to live in.
