Last night i spotted another wooden ladder for sale in the local rag £5 and only a few miles away, not to be missed I had it home inside the hour ,so another archway can now be constructed when i have time.the one i made last autumn (its on a blog) now has clematis Comtesse de Bouchaud starting its journey upwards.
Lunch time we visited the trading post for a snack and introduced jamie to Elvis and a few other friends just soft music nothing loud but he was not impressed.
I purchased one plant a replacement for an established one that died a year ago namely Viburnum Plicatum Maresii a good price £7.50 will show later.
To round it off we had our snack and jamie’s lead was wrapped around what was a marquee type post carrying a large canvas cover and after saying Hullo to all that passed by it became apparent that not only had he wound the lead around the post a number of times he had managed get it under the post jammed tight, that took three members of staff puffing and blowing to lift the post to free him.I new he did not take to Elvis but it was not that bad.At the check out the lady observed this the dog is it !!!
Not sure he will be allowed back.lol

I think the idea of a clematis growing up a ladder is great - you can almost hear it saying when I grow up I want to be a window cleaner!

I shall look forward to seeing your new plant Brian, lol that look off Jamie, he does not look amused one bit poor Jamie its not his fault he got stuck bet the staff had a laugh later about it that freed him, they should place dog ties for you to feed a lead through for dogs we have them here.

Terra lol, i could work out your age from thoes comments.
Sarah, very good you are obviously a lot more awake than I am tonight.
6p its as much as we can do to have dogs allowed in to garden centres down here although this one does have clean water bowls for them ,not that jamie would want it. Has to smell and look like mud for him to drink it.

I imagine quite a few folk will be telling the tale of Jamie being tied up later on ... he's a lovely looking dog, Brian. The trouble is ... whenever I show pics of him to my OH I get into trouble for not having a dog. I hope Jamie will be allowed back one day soon. : o ))

I love the look on Jamies face. That music is a bit beneath him !!

He is obviously not a fan of 'The King' HaHa.
I think he would have sung.."caught in a trap,"..:o))

Perhaps Jamie would have been happier had I put his Blue Suede Shoes on.

Loved your story....at least they provide water bowls for thirsty doggies and outside space to sit if the weather co-operates :)
Yes, Jamie does look pretty fed up....good to nab the £5 ladder :)

By the look on your face, you know "this" Elvis has a Wooden Heart, unlike me, Jamie, I Cant Help Falling In Love With You!!! You have me howling at a Blue Moon my fourlegged heartbreaker.
I do sympathise, Garden Centres aren't the places to have ball games!

As muddy says Jamie`s expression is priceless. Good idea of using wooden ladders as trellis especially at that price. Can we see it when its done.
