Back in January at the request of GOY members I layered down in a cool propagator a frond from Polystichum Setiferum. The first two pictures are a reminder of how it was in Jan 2012 followed by its progress

Moving forward six months I am surprised at the amount of new roots each section has made ,plenty to sustain the new fronds now emerging

Showing root growth

All Potted up and ready to go to new homes

Finally pictures how a mature plant looks end of April ,they are naturally late starters

And as it looks now June 11

I have already contacted a few who showed interest in it and dispatched two today to check postage costs sent out in little boxes.
More than I expected at £2.78 so queried the cost and was told that PO now charge a set rate of £2.78 for any thing between 100 and 500 grams .as my little boxes with content only way a little over 200 grams we are being penalised for small items Typical P.O
Those who are on my list I will PM in the next couple of days and check that you still want them ,the ones outside the UK I will discuss if it is practical.

This one should have been half way down but something went wrong Terra told me how to put them in the right place but I have forgotten ,never mind.

Thank you so much, Brian . . . I feel honoured to be a recipient of your skill, kindness and generosity! I know you've said you don't want anything as a "swap", but I will think of something. :)) Brilliant blog!

Agreed. It is also a lovely idea that a fern your father found all those years ago will now be populating gardens all over the UK and beyond. Thankyou so much.

I found out that they were charging the same £2.78 for practically everything I was sending Brian I was puzzled as well because of the different sizes and weights ,it's so unfair ! I have enjoyed seeing your tiny plants grow from little specs to lovely little plants and such healthy looking ones to ....
