Familiar with this species but form is new to me.

Wow! The Tropaeolum is amazing and the red Primula, new to me but gorgeous - seems Karen and I think alike :)
It must be a real treat to have a wander round your garden right now Brian. Can I ask a question too.... What is the almost red Corydallis?
It's a lovely deep shade.

this a replacement for several all lost in the hard winter of 2010 when they are happy they will make 10 ft of growth in a matter of weeks with hundreds of flowers.

Karen the one behind the magnolia is in my garden the other one is not, that is Golden leylandii and about 60 ft high fortunately that is north facing so does not affect my light but uses a lot of moisture.

Good to see Magnolias enjoying the spring this year instead of being cut down by frosts.
Nice collection of plants.

Thanks Brian. I like that it's a bit darker in the shade Brian. No don't have this one as I've always thought it was much lighter. Obviously the ones I've seen are in sunnier spots. I couldn't tell the difference between it and Beth Evans (which I do have) so didn't bother adding it to the garden.

Oh thankyou Brian for showing us your beautiful garden, so many lovely plants its difficult to choose a favourite, maybe the Red primulaa and the dainty Hepatica;0)

Great photos of your garden, Brian! Never seen a red Primula before! The Hepaticas are lovely flowers as well. :-))
The Magnolia is wondrous! As we haven't had frosts,or strong, cold Easterly winds this year here the Magnolias around here are looking fabulous as well!
The Tropaleum tricolour you say can grow 10 ft in just a few
weeks??? Is it a hardy plant or for growing in a cold greenhouse? Can it be grown from seed?

Baqlcony they will grow from seed but easier to buy the tubers, this one is new last Autumn my other stock I lost in 2010,and yes the tubers are a bit tender.

What a treat! Such a lot of loveliness. That tropaeolum is incredible, and the red primula too! What a lovely garden you have Brian, so much interest all year around. :) in the penultimate photo...the two huge trees in the background...are they in your garden, or someone else's?
