Value for money

This tale starts around February this year with a visit to our local Lidel store where a number of dwarfed Chrysanthemoms were for sale at £3 per pot each contained three cuttings that had been stopped to produce a single bloom, could not resist two pots a whole £6 pounds ,they proved good value as they continued to flower for 4 weeks.
The flowers over they were moved to the glass house and cut back to a few inches from the ground where in a short time they started to throw up new shoots.early spring and i split them up into six individual plants and provided fresh compost in 4in pots
One set back the squirrels dug them all back out of the pots a few days after they were put outside destroying the smallest one, after that the five remaining continued to grow throughout the Summer & Autumn re potted twice more
It was early October before buds appeared and there was talk of frosts so i decided to move them back under cover where the flowers are now opening, some already in the house as cut flowers with lots more to come
I think a good six pounds worth dont you.

I bought similar pots of incurved chrysanths in Morrisons two years ago. I planted them out in the garden and they are still growing strongly. They have reverted and are no longer incurved but they make a lovely splash of colour in the autumn. I cut them back after flowering each year. As you say a very good bargain.
